About Copa Libertadores
The Copa Libertadores is South America's top club competition, organised every year by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is named after the Libertadores, the leaders of the wars of independence in Spanish America and Brazil. Its group stage has eight groups of four clubs, followed by knockout rounds.
